How SnaKey began…

Like many good ideas, SnaKey began by solving a problem of my own. My handbag was typically stretched to breaking point - wallet, phone, car keys, inhaler, paracetamol, lip balm, hairbrush, Rescue Remedy, dead light bulbs, spare football studs, dog poo bags and, inevitably, my house keys somewhere right at the bottom.

One day, I looped a dog lead around a handle of my favourite leather tote and attached my house keys to the carabiner clip. It was a revelation. At the end of the day, with an armful of bags, a dog and three sons trying to escape, I could find my keys instantly and and it was long enough to open the front door without putting down my bag. I started clipping my car keys on as soon as I arrived somewhere so I always knew exactly where they were when it was time to leave.

It was a game changer - but there was one problem. A beautiful leather handbag deserved something rather more elegant than a dog lead.

And so, SnaKey was born.

I wanted to create something that was as beautiful as it was useful: a simple leather accessory that keeps the things you need close at hand, without compromising the look of your bag.

I’m incredibly fortunate to work with traditional leather experts here in the UK who, combining their skilled craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, have helped my ideas come to life.

SnaKey may have started with my chaotic handbag, but now I hope it can bring a little order to yours too.
